For me it is only by living with authenticity that we can have lasting satisfaction. I have found that being fake doesn’t cut it for me – especially in the longer term. Living up to someone else’s image of who I am is empty at best.
Authenticity can sound like a tall order – like it is an ideal. It doesn’t have to be – for me it means being in touch with who I am and the situation I am in.
If we are not in touch with who we are then we won’t even know what can be satisfying to us. If we aren’t in touch with our situation we won’t be able to life in a satisfying way – even if we do know what would be satisfying to us.
Authenticity can be done in small steps. Each one of which means we live a slightly more satisfying life.
The Smallest and Easiest Step I Can Think Of
The smallest and easiest way to start living more authentically and start to experience more satisfaction is to simply check in with where we are at a particular moment in time. To pay attention to what we are seeing or hearing or how we are feeling. It need only take a second.
I have written an email course of forty reminders (one each day for forty days) that simply remind you to check in with yourself. To find out more, and buy it if you would like to, you can go to the 40 Reminders page. I really can’t think of a simpler and easier way to being living a more authentic and satisfying life. To give the email address you would like the course delivered to, just fill in the boxes on this page. Hoping you like the course, Evan.
To find out how to live authentically you can download my manifesto.
It has exercises that will help you experience what authenticity means for you and so experience a more satisfying life.
If you would like me to write about some aspect of living an authentic life please don’t hesitate to get in touch. There is a box in the sidebar where you can leave this anonymously if you wish.
