Today is Lung Leavin’ Day

by Evan on 2014/02/02

This post is to alert you to mesothelioma and that some people do recover from it.

One of these people is Heather von St James.  You can read her story here.  (It is one of those pages where you scroll down and a little text appears in a box as you scroll.)

Heather had her lung removed on this day eight years ago.  Her sister named it “Lung Leavin’ Day”.  Heather and her husband and others want to spread the word about Lung Leavin’ Day – it gets bigger each year.  I am happy to add my contribution.

Heather’s page also contains a link to Mesothelioma.com which gives you information about the condition that lead to the removal of Heather’s lung.

I’ve known two people who died from asbestos exposure.

It’s really awful. Here in Aus there was a company that tried to opt out of its obligations to pay damages to those who had been exposed.
